The Top 10 Bedside Tables
Truth in Decorating: Interior designers Jesse Carrier and Georgia Tapert size up these stylish bedroom essentials
Decorator Jesse Carrier of Carrier and Co. Interiors in New York City, agrees, adding that it’s best to seek out those with the right amount of storage for your needs. “Some people live quite sparely and can do with just a small, simple table,” he says. “Others, like me, are collectors and have lots of stuff, so it makes sense to look for a table with drawers or shelves, or a small cabinet.” The pieces, however, need not match. A spacious round table could anchor one side, for instance, and a chest of drawers the other. The primary thing to keep in mind is scale, Carrier says. “Bedside furniture should not be too high or too low in relation to the mattress,” he explains. “But when it comes to style, I think it’s fun to mix it up.”
